"Science Prize Homburg 2019" awarded to Anouar

Dr. Anouar Belkacemi, one of our first IRTG trainees in the group of Prof. Veit Flockerzi in Homburg, received the 20th “Science Prize of the City of Homburg” for his pubblication in Cell Reports entitled „IP3 Receptor-dependent cytoplasmic Ca2+ signals are tightly controlled by Cavß3“ (Cell Rep 22, 1339-1349). The work shows that deletion of Cavß3 subunit of voltage-gated Ca2+ channels renders cells more sensitive to inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate and accelerates skin wound healing in mice. We congratulate sincere. (Anouar shares the price with a former co-worker in Prof. Richard Zimmermann`s group, Dr. Maximilian Linxweiler from the Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology.
