PD Dr. Ulrich Hammes from the the University of Regensburg (Cell Biology & Plant Biology) will visit our IRTG on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. His talk ("The role of amino acid facilitators in growth and development") will take place in Kaiserslautern at 5 pm in in Building 13, Room 315 (Host: Lisa Ohler).

PD Dr. Klaus Richter from the the TU Munich (Dept. of Chemistry, Biotechnology) will visit us soon (Title of talk: "Coping with stress - biochemical survival strategies"; Host: Eva Zöller, further details soon).

Prof. Dr. Nils Brose (Max-Planck-Institut für Experimentelle Medizin, Göttingen) will visit us on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. His talk entitled "Dynamic control of synaptic vesicle priming and short-term synaptic plasticity" will take place in Kaiserslautern at 5 pm in in Building 13, Room 315 (Host: Sabrina Marz).

Dr. Martina Zivna from the Institute of Inherited Metabolic Disorders (Charles University in Prague) will visit the IRTG from September 10 to 13, 2017. On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, she will give a talk on the "Molecular Mechanisms in Development of Autosomal Dominant Tubulointerstitial Nephropathies (ADTKD)" at 5 pm in Homburg (Building 45, Lecture hall; hosted by Sven Lang).

Prof. Dr. Michael Schaefer from the Rudolf-Boehm-Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology, University Leipzig will visit the IRTG for a guest talk on November 15, 2016 at 5 pm in Homburg (Building 60, Lecture hall; hosted by Laura Hofmann/AG Flockerzi). Prof. Dr. Thomas Kuner from the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Heidelberg will visit the IRTG for a guest talk on February 7, 2017 at 5 pm in Kaiserslautern (Building 13, Room 305; hosted by Sabrina Marz/AG Friauf). Dr. Erik Strandberg from the Institute of Biological Interfaces (IBG-2) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology visited the IRTG for a guest talk on June 14, 2016 at 5 pm in Kaiserslautern, Building 13, Room 305 (hosted by Bartholomäus Danielczak). Dr. Jan Jasper Hirtz (Alumni GRK 845) from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute of the Columbia University in New York (USA) visited the IRTG for a guest talk on June 16, 2015 (5 pm, Homburg, Building 60, Lecture hall). Todd Alexander (PhD, Associate Professor) from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Department of Nephrology and Physiology at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Kanada visited the IRTG for a guest talk on April 16, 2015 (11 am, Homburg, Building 60, Lecture hall). Todd gave a talk entitled: "Calcium sensing and paracellular calcium pores: new insights into intestinal calcium uptake".

October 29, 2013

Dr. Sven Lang from the Buck Institute for Research on Aging (Novato, California, USA) visited us on October 29, 2013 (hosted by the IRTG 1830 and the SFB 894). He presented a seminar entitled “Rosy and Uri - Two novel genetic models to study kidney stone diseases in Drosophila melanogaster” at the Saarland University at 5.15 pm (Campus Homburg, building 60, lecture hall). Sven was a member of the GRK 845 in the group of Richard Zimmermann. He did his PhD in 2012 and currently works as a Postdoc in California. On October 28, 2013 he has been awarded the Dr. Eduard Martin-Price of the Saarland University (an annual price for the best young scientists of each faculty in an academic year). Congratulations!
